OverView
Ahead of a secondary listing on AIM, the board were looking to add a UK-based NED to add to City credibility. The NED required an existing institutional investor following, with deep PLC board experience and experience as a PLC CFO.
The Challenge
Given the transaction timetable, a shortlist was needed in 2 weeks (delivered to client in 1 week), with the timetable driven by GM dates. A company / broker-led NED search was already in progress, and JW Markets was brought in to provide additional contingency.
The Solution
Benefiting from experience gained advising listed video games businesses in the past, including leading IPOs as an investment banker. This experience underpinned JWM’s recommendation to require deep media content experience. CI Games had a relatively lumpy release schedule, and therefore adding value required experience with similar release-date driven entertainment businesses.
The Result
JW Markets was able to provide an excellent short list of three NED candidates in 1 week. Jeremy Lewis was appointed to the Supervisory Board of CI Games in September 2022. Jeremy’s passion for the video games industry, together with his experience both as a PLC CEO and CFO of blue chip video games businesses drive his ability to add value to CI Games.
"JW Markets played a pivotal role in shaping CI Games’ supervisory board by enhancing its collective video game expertise and broadening its international reach. Their market knowledge was invaluable, and I highly recommend their services."
